Excellent book for newbies to Lightwave 10!

Great book with a lot of great examples as to how to start using Lightwave 10 and just enough to get your feet wet. I wish there were a little more meat in some of the chapters, but the content from the DVD more than makes up for that. I would have no problems recommending this book to someone getting into lightwave and needing to learn more about it's features and how to get started in modeling an object, texturing it, lighting it well, and finally animating it. All of these make for a great introduction to Lightwave 10.

Definite Guide for Beginners

This is a very good book indeed for any entry level. Not only the author Dan is very knowledgeable about Lightwave, he's been using it for almost if not 20 years.
The chapters are well organized and I actually prefer this version of the book if compared with the previous Lightwave book versions. You can skip chapters and dive right into the subject of your interest. This book doesn't go beyond the abis depths, but it certainly teach you the ins and outs of Lightwave. I'm new to Lightwave and I'm always keep going back to this book for any reference.
I don't need a bible of 1000 pages unlike other reviewers, I need a well organized and straight to the point book and Inside Lightwave 10 does precisely the job.
Strongly recommended for any beginner to Lightwave.

Lightwave 3D 10 Good to get you going

This book should get you going. Although some things had to be pulled before shipping, but other than that it will get you up to speed in no time. The writing is good and you can understand it.
The included DVD has some great vids on it which should help to get you started. CORE is not ready yet, so ignore the reference to it until later this year when they release it.
Wished they had a good chapter on UV but then again you can't have everything.
